About TPC
About the club and its journey

Tourism Professionals Club (TPC) is an association of professionals from the travel and tourism fraternity of Kerala. A registered organisation under The Society Act 1955 (Reg. No. ER 441/04), TPC provides up-to-date market intelligence and privileged services that contribute to the development of the industry. TPC is a unique platform for representatives from various segments of the tourism industry such as tour operators, transporters, guides, hoteliers, activity providers, etc., to express themselves as a seasoned professional, an aspiring entrepreneur, or an industry stakeholder. Whether you are a part of Senior Management, Middle Management, or Chief Executive of a start-up/established business house, there is a place for you here.

At the time of the inception of TPC in 2003, we were merely 50 members there. Today we have grown profoundly to become an active tourism association with a powerful voice, having more than 500 registered tourism professionals who collaborate with much zeal and passion.

We have been conducting various mega-events (including our signature flagship soccer tournament – Shoot The Rain, seminars hosting various industry experts, FAM trips, etc.) that have received positive feedback from the Kerala tourism fraternity. Each year, the participation of leading tourism stakeholders in the state has been increasing, and hence we are encouraged to conduct more events that cater to our industry.

With an intention to eliminate ill feelings if any among the tour operators, a meeting was called on in Trident Hotel, Willington Island in the year of 2003 over a dinner, and 80 tour operators from Kerala attended the meeting, whereby decided to form a club for the tour operators. Two meetings with the key people were held and decided to form a club without any political affiliation. In accordance with these meetings, the Club was formed out of sheer enthusiasm, friendship and strong will to create a common platform for the tourism professionals and named it “Tourism Professionals Club”. There were only 50 members from various tour companies in Kerala during the inception. The club has been registered under society act (1955) in the year 2004. The Club unanimously elected the founder office-bearers. During the AGM held on 3rd September 2010, it has been decided to conduct election for appointing the governing body, and the same is being followed thereafter. The aim and objectives of the club is member’s welfare, promotion of tourism and educate the members through meetings and seminars.

BRIEF HISTORY OF TOURISM PROFESSIONALS CLUB

In the year 2003, when a small group of young tour operators gathered from various tour companies for a series of discussions, they observed that our industry could become more cohesive, and a feeling of unity could be imbibed among everyone. They strongly felt that we can achieve more if we stand together, and develop a sense of camaraderie with a dash of healthy competition. They believed that with open and honest communication, we can achieve both individual objectives and the shared dreams that we have as an industry. With this driving agenda in mind, the group called upon a meeting in Trident Hotel, Willington Island, Cochin in the year 2003 over a dinner and hosted about 80 tour operators within Kerala. Echoing in unison, it was decided that an association was to be formed and that it would become the voice of the young blood of Kerala Tourism. “The Tourism Professionals Club” was thereafter established out of sheer enthusiasm and friendship.

The formation of TPC was to reflect the strong resolve to create a common platform for tourism professionals. To this day, the building blocks of our association continue to build on member welfare, destination promotion, and education through seminars, B2B meets, and familiarization tours.

Since we are an amalgamation of large-, medium- and small-sized tour operators, the timely knowledge sharing and the several FAM trips that we have conducted have resulted in adding much more value to the role of tour operators in the industry. Today we can proudly state that the travel industry is working in synergy with our members. We continue to conduct various FAM tours across the length and breadth of Kerala, which is cementing this relationship.
